The Cancelled Movie
A Scott Shaw Zen Film
Sometimes Things Just Aren't Turning Out The Way You Had Hoped.
PLOT AND CONCEPT:
Step into the realms of Zen Filmmaking in an ideally illustrative passage into the filmmaking mind and techniques of avant-garde filmmaker Scott Shaw as his guides his cast and crew through the creation of creating a Zen Film.
The meta-narrative of this film follows a filmmaker who realizes his movie is not turning out the way he hoped, forcing him to, "Pull the plug." The resulting film is a chaotic, comedic chronicle of that exact filmmaking collapse. The only question remaining, was it involuntary or was it intentional?
The film stands as a unique, self-referential piece of independent cult cinema that documents the literal abandonment and creative pivot of a failing film shoot.
This film provides a Master Class into the process of Zen Filmmaking.
